Prior Authorization Accountability

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026

Prior Authorization Accountability is an independent public-interest information and research project. It is not a healthcare provider, health plan, law firm, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic. Vercel may process page paths, referring websites, approximate geographic location, device type, operating system, browser, and timestamps. Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and reports anonymous, aggregated statistics rather than identifying individual visitors.

Calculator and browsing activity

Calculator inputs and page interactions are processed in your browser to display results. We do not intentionally associate them with your name, medical record, insurance member number, or other direct identifier. Do not put identifying or confidential information into URL fields or query parameters.

Story submissions and email

The story form asks for information you choose to provide, which may include your role, state, insurer, condition, delayed service, account of events, optional email, and attribution preference. When no secure form endpoint is configured, the site creates a pre-filled email in your email application; sending that email transmits its contents through your email provider. If a Formspree endpoint is enabled later, Formspree will process the submission under its own terms.

Please share only your own experience. Do not include names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, insurance member numbers, or identifying information about another person. Submissions may be reviewed, edited, anonymized, declined, quoted, summarized, or used in aggregate as described in the consent notice. You may request correction or removal by emailing stories@priorauthaccountability.org.

How information is used

We use aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful, improve the project, and diagnose technical problems. Voluntary submissions are used for research, verification, public-interest reporting, and follow-up when permission and contact information are provided. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers, legal requests, and security

Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics. Email providers, Formspree if enabled, and other infrastructure providers may process information needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably required by law, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate abuse. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

External links and children

This site links to third-party research, government resources, and tools that control their own privacy practices. The project is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as the project changes. The date above identifies the current version. This policy is a general disclosure and is not legal advice.
